Gilman, Charlotte (Anna) Perkins (Stetson)
(3 jul. 1860, Hartford, Conn., EE.UU.–17 ago. 1935, Pasadena, Cal.).

Teórica feminista, escritora y conferencista estadounidense. Obtuvo fama mundial por sus conferencias sobre mujeres, ética, trabajo y sociedad. En su obra más conocida, Women and Economics [Mujeres y economía] (1898), postuló que se había exagerado la importancia de los roles sexuales y maternales de la mujer en detrimento de su potencial económico y social, y que sólo su independencia económica le traería la verdadera libertad. En sus otros escritos figura el célebre cuento "The Yellow Wallpaper [El papel mural amarillo] (1899).
